Membership Management

Organizations that are member driven require a method of managing the members and their memberships.  Our membership management system allows your organization to track members with a minimum of effort, and provides the members with the ability to update their own member information.

At the heart of any member based organization is the member itself.  Our member management feature at it's core tracks the base information required of all members.  This includes contact information and related static information.  This comprises the member's profile.   This information can be managed by an appointed member, or members, of the organization, or by the members themselves.

In addition to the base profile, many organizations have the need to track additional details specific to their organization.  Our member management feature allows for the creation of custom attributes that you can link to a member's information.  Each attribute can have multiple value options.  There are no limits to how many attributes you can create.  This allows you to create a membership database with the information that is important to your organization.

In addition to the base information and extensible attributes, there are also custom definable groups and roles.  Since each organization is unique in how they structure their members this gives the organization managers a great deal of flexibility in defining the members.  For example groups can be defined for committees or other relevant groups.  Each group can have roles defined to them.  The groups and roles can be used simply for tracking, or for contacting members using the communication tools, or for restricting access to specific sensitive information.  The power and flexibility of this feature allows you to define your membership structure as you need it.

The member information can be used to create a membership directory.  The directory can be made public, or strictly for members.  The directory can list all members alphabetically, or you can include a search feature to find specific members.

Not only is the member management feature a benefit to the organization management users, but the members will receive a direct benefit through the ease of use.  Prospective members have the ability to complete a registration form online, and optionally pay for their membership fees electronically as part of the application process.  Active members have the ability to pay their membership due renewals online, as well as to update their profile information directly.

Feature Benefits

Member Benefits - Existing members will benefit through the ease of use of updating their information and paying their dues.  Additionally the ability for members to access member-only information through the website will be valuable.  The automated application and registration process will be a benefit to prospective members that will lower the barrier to entry into your organization on a technical level.

Productivity - The membership management feature will save the member directors valuable time over less automated management systems.  The ability for members to update their own profiles, pay dues, and register online will prove invaluable to those responsible for overseeing those processes.  Additionally the tools available to assist member managers with collecting aggregate member data and maintaining the member information will make their responsibilities more manageable.  The ability to contact members by custom defined group will make communication more effective (see the Mass Email feature for more details).
